Hi,
Hopefully somebody can shed a light on a problem I'am having.A
customer of mine has a DECHub 900 with the following Config.
Slot Card
1 DecSwitch 900-ef
2 PortSwitch 900-tp
3 Decrepeater90T
4 PortSwitch 900-cp
5 PortSwitch 900-cp
6 Decrepeater 900-TM
7 Decconcentrator 900MX
8 empty
The Hub as 3 Power supplies and show N+1 on the management Module.After
2 recent power losses to the hub the Hub would not power up.the only
indication were on the AC leds on the Power Supplies There were no DC
leds on at all.As each PSU was physically removed and then
re-connected it's DC led would come on and only when ALL PSU's had this
treatement was the hub able to power up successfully.
Has any one come across this problem before and if so is there a cure
or an easy method to identify the cause of the problem ?.
Thanks in Advance
Brendan

| 3470.1 | What kind of power supplies are they? | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | Don't use time/words carelessly | Wed Apr 17 1996 10:33 | 7 |
What kind of power supplies are being used in the HUB. Are they
H7890's or H7894's? Are they a mix of the 2 types of supplies.
I personally don't know of a problem like this or have the answer,
but I can forward this to someone who may be able to help with
some kind of answer.

| 3470.3 | Have customer simulate power outage by unplugging hub | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | Don't use time/words carelessly | Fri Apr 19 1996 09:26 | 7 |
Can the customer re-create the problem by simply un-plugging
the ac cord from the hub? This would be as close as I can think
of to simulating the 2 power outages where I presume that the
customer discovered after the power was restored that the hub
didn't power back up.
