3468.0. "VLAN 802.1Q standardized?" by HGRNCC::FARADAYCHONG () Wed Apr 17 1996 05:11
Just saw the following:
The IEEE 802.1Q committee charged with developing virtual LAN (VLAN)
standards voted to approve an architectural approach and a frame-tagging
format for making virtual LANs interoperable. The new VLAN format,
which has been endorsed by major vendors, is expected to pave the way
for interoperability and common management of large networks built with
multivendor LAN equipment. (Business Wire, April 15,1996)
Can anyone shed light on the above and clearify Digital's position?
