3436.0. "HUBwatch for OpenVMS, Revision X4.1.3 : X Toolkit Warning: I18NOpenFile:" by BACHUS::KNEUTS (Erwin Kneuts DTN 856-8726) Wed Apr 10 1996 12:28

Hello,

I can not run HUBwatch for OpenVMS, Revision X4.1.3 on a customer system.

watch/agent fails with:
Failed to fetch UID files for hub type 3X Toolkit Warning: I18NOpenFile:
Couldn't open file decw$system_defaults:hub_gui_tr900th.uid - MrmFAILURE

The file spec is random. It is always one of the decw$system_defaults:*.uid
files.

I have read notes entries with similar problems:
I doublechecked on Fillm and Channelcnt.

I have attached a log of the problem + a debug trace.

Help is much appreciated,

Erwin Kneuts

BTW, any delivery date yet for the SSB version?

3436.1decw$server process quotas checked as well.BACHUS::KNEUTSErwin Kneuts DTN 856-8726Fri Apr 12 1996 09:3914
Hello,

It might help for other people but not for me.

Quota of the DECW$server_* process might cause trouble as well.
In my case quota were sufficient, and higher than on another system were all
works fine.

I can not find any relevant difference between the "good" and the "bad"
environment.

Help is (still ) welcome.

Erwin

    HUBwatch for VMS X4.1.3 is really not ready for customer consumption.
    I hope your customer understands that this is FIELD TEST software and
    there are still lots of kinks to work out.
