3392.1 | You forgot something, Anton! | SLINK::HOOD | Your bad news bear | Fri Mar 22 1996 10:44 | 14 |
| Anton,
You need to add the 90TL to your HUBwatch agents file.
"Community->Manage Table" window.
> I had to fill in the Hardware addres -> is this normal? I also

Yes. The DECagent 90 only returns the MAC address of the DECserver 90TL
to HUBwatch. HUBwatch needs to know the IP address.
This is all documented in the HUBwatch installation & configuration manual.

3392.2 | Server is in agent file, but stop/start HW is the problem | IJSAPL::VISSER_A | | Tue Apr 02 1996 04:18 | 11 |
| Hello Tom,
I did add this server into the community table. The problem is that
after exiting hubwatch and starting again there is nothing changed in
the configuration (The server is in the hub visable and in the agent
file) but I can not dubble click this server in the hub.
So there seems to be something different when you exit hubwatch and
start again.

3392.3 | Slot polling disabled? | SLINK::HOOD | Your bad news bear | Tue Apr 02 1996 11:42 | 1 |
| When you did the Configure->Add Module, did you disable slot polling?
|
3392.4 | Yes I disabled polling. | IJSAPL::VISSER_A | | Wed Apr 03 1996 02:49 | 7 |
| Hello Tom,
Yes I disabled the polling. In fact I tried al the possibilities in
this function: red, green, first gray, second gray (whatever these
gray's mean).
Anton.

3392.5 | this may help... | IAMOSI::LEUNG | Dennis Leung, Sydney CSC | Wed Apr 03 1996 03:43 | 10 |
| I had a similar problem and found that only after upgrading the modules to the
latest firmware version, the problem was solved. May be, you can check if you
have the same firmware.
Firmware used to get it to work :
DS90Tl with V1.1A BL45-11
DecAgent90 with V3.0.1
DecBridge90 V3.9

Hmmm... It's supposed to be a checkbox. By default, slot polling
is enabled.
Confusedly yours,

3392.7 | Latest revisions used! | IJSAPL::VISSER_A | | Thu Apr 04 1996 10:40 | 11 |
| Thanks Dennis for your input but....
I upgraded the DECagent90 and the DECbridge90 to the latest versions
(V3.0.1 and V3.9) and the DECserver 90TL uses V1.1A BL45-11 rom 2.0.0
Tom,
Did I make a mistake and do I have to use a different way in disabeling
the polling?
Anton.

3392.8 | Just a single button. | SLINK::HOOD | Your bad news bear | Thu Apr 04 1996 10:59 | 9 |
| Anton,
In the HUBwatch Configuration -> Add Module window (near the bottom
half of that window) is a check-box for slot polling. By default
when you add a module, the check-box is in the enable slot polling
state. You want to change it to disable. No multi-colors or anything
like that. Just a single button.

3392.9 | HUB900 or HUB90? | IJSAPL::VISSER_A | | Thu Apr 11 1996 11:27 | 7 |
| Hello Tom,
Aren't you describing a DS90TL in a hub900? Last week I did a test and
I could not see the enable or disable but the red/green/gray/gray
button. Perhaps You are using a HUB900? I have a hub90 with a agent90.

3392.10 | Should be a 2-position pushbutton? | SLINK::HOOD | Your bad news bear | Thu Apr 11 1996 14:40 | 7 |
| Nope, it doesn't matter. The Add Module window has (should have) a
pushbutton (two-position) for slot polling.
I'm tele-commuting today and don't have HUBwatch for Macintosh installed
here, but I'll double-check it when I'm in the office.
