Hello,
I have a problem with a Portswitch900FP configuration.
Portswitch900FP in DEChub900. All ports are in group 1 and
thinwire connection is to port 1-2.
DEChub900 also contains DECrepeater90T. Four VAX 4500 are connected
to this repeater.
LWL connection via port 1 to other Portswitch900FP in a DEChub900.
Port 2 is redundancy for port 1.
LWL connection from port 3 to LWL-AUI transceiver in Lanbridge150. This
then connects to a LAN-segment.
Machine on this LAN-segment connected via port 3 tries to access either
VAX 4500 over DECnet or LAT. Connection establishment takes up to 2 minutes
or times out. If this machine connects via port 3 and then port 1 to
other DEChub900 there is no problem.
Connectivity via port 1 from other DEChub900 to those VAX 4500 works O.K.
If I install a DEFAR into the HUB and take the LWL from 900FP port 3
to this device the problem disappears.
Is there a misconfiguration here ?
Thank you for any help

Hello Uli,
Is it possible that your problem has something to do with illegal
repeater redundancy. I have asked a question about repeater redundancy
in note #3387.
