3385.0. "DS900EF/MP unable to connect all ports to backplane" by IJSAPL::VISSER_A () Thu Mar 21 1996 04:09

Hello,

I wanted to configure a hub with a DS900EF/MP (router).
When I use the LAN interconnect I can 'configure' (ligo) the router ports. When
I define then all to the backplane I see at the LAN interconnect a '*'. This
means I need to axpand. Whin I do this the 'sethost' is started (I did not
configure this so I get an error). When I do this with a 900CP I get a window
with a LAN interconnect of the 900CP only. I expected this also for the
900EF/MP.

Am I doing something wrong or is it something else?

Anton Visser,
Network Services Holland.

3385.1You need HW for Windows 4.1.2NPSS::WADENetwork Systems SupportThu Mar 21 1996 08:595
    Looks like your using HUBwatch for Windows 4.1.1. Take a look in note
    #2990 for a pointer to HUBwatch for Windows 4.1.2.

    Note #2878 describes the problem that exists between The DECswitch EF
    routing code and HUBwatch for Windows 4.1.1.

3385.3Thanks, (decnet pointer?)IJSAPL::VISSER_AFri Mar 22 1996 08:325
    Thanks for the fast responce,

    Is there a decnet pointer for this location?

    Anton.
3385.4Read note # 2.4NETCAD::BATTERSBYDon't use time or words carelessly.Fri Mar 22 1996 10:315
    Anton, I believe note #2.4 has pointers for what you're looking
    for.

    Actually no, note #2 has firmware pointers. Hubwatch for windows is
    note #8. Take a look at note #8.7

    For DECnet access to the HUBwatch for Windows 4.1.2 kit -

    bhub(55.91)::"/var/users/ftp/hubw_pc/disk1"
                                         disk2
                                         disk3

    Use the exchange utility when copying the binary files to VMS.

    Have fun,

    In .5 I  stated -

    For DECnet access to the HUBwatch for Windows 4.1.2 kit -

    bhub(55.91)::"/var/users/ftp/hubw_pc/disk1"
                                         disk2
                                         disk3

    The directory, hubw_pc, is incorrect and points to the 4.1.1 kit. The
    correct directory for 4.1.2 is -

    bhub(55.91)::"/var/users/ftp/route_pc/disk1"
                                         disk2
                                         disk3
