We have a DEChub 900 with a DECrepeater 900FP in slot 5 as the IP services module. The Hubwatch PC was connected to this HUB via a DECrepeater 90TS in slot 3. I said to the customer that it is always good to make the IP services module the one that is closest to the Hubwatch PC and hence we made the 90TS in slot 3 the IP services module instead of the 900FP in slot 5. Once we did that we could not manage that hub. We get the usual message target does not respond. We tried another 90TS and the same result. The 90TS were at rev 2.0. I reluctantly thought may be the 90TS cannot function as IP services module although all the docs I have say that the 90TS can function as IP services module. Anyway I gave up putting the 900FP in slot 5 back as the IP services module again and then I could manage the HUB again. As I said above the Hubwatch PC was connected to this Hub via a DR90TS in slot 3 all the time. ALphonse

Hi, When you configured the 90TS in slot 3 as the IP services module, what did the console Show Current Settings display? There is a status shown under Other Info. Dotsie

Also, because you are changing which device is responding to your in-band address, you must wait for the arp cache to timeout or reset it manually. -Mike

Oops.. I think it must be the ARP cache in the PC that must have caused it. I will try making the DR90TS IP services module again. This time I won't forget to clear the ARP cache. ALphonse |
