Hi, Hope somebody answers... In a PESwitch900TP context installed in a Hub900 and tied to DECswitch900EF via internal FDDI. Looking at PEswitch counters it appears on three ports Excessive collisions being the same value that Xmit errors, and on other port it appears Carrier Sense Errors having the same value that the Xmit errors on this port. Can anybody explain me how a Personal Ethernet Switch can have excessive collisions? Isn't each port a different collision domain? Carrier sense failure...where is the backbone? there is a backbone per port? I have to say that module was low of fw revision and yesterday I "hubgraded" it from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1 also DEChub was upgraded from 4.0.4 to 4.1.0. Any comment will be appreciated. After the fw upgrade (last week) no more errors have been observed. But I'm not sure if the upgrade has been the reason. Do you think the new fw solves such kind of problems? In fact the customer was complaining about disconnecting sessions on systems connected to the PEswitch. Jordi Manchon |
