3238.0. "Find Duplicate problem" by HGOVC::SIUKEUNGLEE () Mon Feb 05 1996 10:19
Hi,
Refer to 2548 duplicate address problem. If two or more repeater are
connected together like the following configuration:
----- ----- -----
| D | | D | | D |
PC --------| R | | R | | R |---- Hubwatch
| 9 | | 9 | | 9 |
| 0 |-----------| 0 |-----------| 0 |
| 0 | | 0 | | 0 |
| 0 | | 0 | | 0 |
----- ----- -----
R1 R2 R3
If the PC send some packets though R1 to R3. Refer to 2548,
all the repeaters wil keep the PC's MAC address in their
erptrAddrDBPortAddrtable. Then the Hubwatch run the "Find Duplicate"
will obtain the result like in 2548.0.
Could someone tell me my understanding is right or wrong ? If wrong,
please give me some example and detail explain.
Thank very MUCH!
David Lee.
HKMCS.
