3164.0. "Blinking Power Supplies" by CSC32::CULP () Tue Jan 16 1996 18:42

    Hi All,

    	Has anyone heard of a problem with power supplies led's blinking?
        I have a customer that has 2 different power supplies (ASTEC/ZYTEC)
        It appears that when both power supplies are in DECHUB 900
        (4.1.1 firmware) the ASTEC led's are blinking and the ZYTEC
        led's remain solid..When customer pulls out ZYTEC power supply
        the ASTEC led's then become solid..Customer claims that power
        is not interrupted at all!!..Does anyone have any clues???

    Regards,
    Kevin Culp (NSU Team)

3164.1Voltage set point incorrect on AstecNETCAD::B_MACARTHURWed Jan 17 1996 10:1415
    Kevin,

        I've seen this same problem in the lab when the voltage on the +5V
        output is set incorrectly on the Astec supply. We know for a fact
        that some quantity of Astec supplies was built using the wrong
        voltage set point, but the problem only shows up when the hub is very
        lightly loaded. If your customer were to add more modules as a
        load, the blinking should stop. The only way to fix it is to
        correctly set the output voltage and this is not an easy thing to
        do without the proper setup. If you have another Astec supply to
        use in the interim, I could fix the one that you're customer is
        seeing a problem with. Let me know what you'd like to do.

        Regards,
                 Bob
