3148.0. "explicit passing on a DECswitch900EF?" by UTOPIE::BRAUN_R () Thu Jan 11 1996 05:21
Hi,
we have the following problem with a DECswitch 900 EF:
The customer doesn't want to block a group of MAC-adresses,
as can be specified with the address filters.
Instead he wants to explicitly allow passing for a group
of MAC-addresses and to block ALL other.
On a CISCO this can be done with
"permit ..."
"permit ..."
.
.
"deny all other"
We tested with Hubwatch 4.1.1, DECswitch 900EF with latest FW, and
we haven't found this feature.
Reserved for future releases?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ralph

| It can do it (of course HUBwatch can do it).
Go to your filtering window. Set the default filter to filter. "-->|"
Then, add the addresses you want to forward with forward "-->"
This will filter everthing except the specified addresses.
