3102.0. "EXCEP v0=08,SCR=2700,PC=00601aa4:failed,hub900" by LATINA::SOENGAS (Madrid-Spain SW support) Wed Dec 27 1995 06:01

    	Hi,

    	We have a customer that has one dechub900 with some modules
    	The modules and the Dechub900 mam have the last firmware version.
    	On the display of the hub900 appears the following message:

    	EXCEP V0 = 08
    	SCR  =  2700
    	PC   =  00601AA4:Failed

    	From the station that has hubwatch doesn't may manage
        this hub. All the modules and the stations that are connected
    	to this hub works ok.
    	What is the meaning of this error?
    	The customer wants one explanation about it.
    	What is the solution?

Hello Elsa,

	That message indicates that the hub900 module (the board
in the top of the DEChub that includes the LDC) has failed and
cannot reset and come up. The next thing to try would be to
power cycle the hub.

	*** WARNING *** WARNING *** WARNING ***

	If a power cycle fails to clear the problem, some/all
those modules in the hub that you report are working fine will
not work anymore! The DEChub 90 modules will work, but the 900
series modules need to interact with the DEChub when they are
powering up, and if the hub is dead, they will not work.

	So, schedule downtime with your customer for the power
cycle. Also, consider having a spare hub900 module (or an entire
spare hub) standing by. If the power cycle is not successful,
swap out the hub900 module.

	Dotsie
3102.2Replace the MAM moduleLEMAN::PAIVAHawkeye - Network Support @GEOFri Dec 29 1995 08:356
    This seems to be the same problem I had in note 3026 [8-)
    Replace the MAM module. But by .1 you probably already know that...

    Cheers,

    Pedro

    Notes - Dotsie....

    We NEED TO DOCUMENT what to do for the field! Here you see ANOTHER
    case of the MAM death etc.

    IT MUST GET INTO THE OWNERS MANUAL!
