Several of my customers will be upgrading hub/firmware/etc. Some of the modules will include a 900TM repeater. Unfortunately they MUST ASSIGN an IP address to these modules to upgrade the firmware. Is there any thought being given to allowing 'hub manager assisted loads' for the 900TM repeater series? One site that I have is a college with a distributed 900 scenario. THey have some hubs which only have repeaters in them and no console access per se, nor did they address each repeater to conserve IP addresses etc. So they must GO TO the console, assign a temp IP address, upgrade a module etc. On the other hand the DEFBA upgrade is very easy. (Needless to say, the customer wants to know why they can't upgrade all 900 hub modules like their DEFBAs etc., as easily) Any thoughts? j

Hi Jon, Yes, we are thinking of fixing this problem. I won't bore you with the technical details (partly because I don't know all of the details), but I will say that the loader code is in boot block and the boot block on these repeaters can't be updated in the field. Don't look for a solution soon. No work is scheduled to fix the problem. -Shawn |
