My french customer uses a huge FDDI + Ethernet LAN (FDDI on the
backbone, 20 bridged Ethernet segments, 1000 connections on the LAN).
He wants to manage his Ethernet segments and FDDI ring with probes.
Our Digital products (from FRONTIER) can only manage Ethernet and
Token Ring LAN.
Have we any international contract with Frontier to resell Frontier
hardware and software to manage customers'network?
If there is a contract, what is it ?
If there is no contract, who (name + phone) can i contact in Frontier
to deal with them the solution for my customer ?

It will be shipped with a V.35 interface on the WAN side. The WAN interface connects between the router and the DSU/CSU. FDDI probe - 7101/ET/8 is Frontier's probe with a UTP FDDI port and an Ethernet AUI interface. They use Digital's PCI FDDI NIC as the FDDI interface. The PROBEwatch-probe traffic must travel over the Ethernet or the SLIP port; you cannot manage in-band on the FDDI; you can only monitor on the FDDI port. The 8 in Frontier's part number signifies 8 Meg of RAM. FDDI probe - 7102/ET/8 is Frontier's probe with a SAS Multimode fiber interface; everything else is the same as the 7101/ET/8. Functionality is the same as for the DECpacketprobe and PROBEwatch, except the Statistics reported are appropriate to the interface type. | |||||
