Hello everybody I will like to know if the following will work.
------------
|alpha-system| I have a DEC HUB 900 with verious DECRepeaters
| with FDDI | with a 900EF and a 900PE SWITCH. These are con-
| controller | nected thru the FDDI backplane channel. And I
|------------| will like to connect thru the A connector of
| the 900EF SWITCH a ALPHA 2100 system which is
| far away from the DEC HUB 900.
| Thanks, Angelo

| 3005.1 | It will work, but should use a concentrator. | MSDOA::REED | John Reed @CBO = Network Services | Fri Nov 24 1995 08:52 | 17 |
Perfect. This config will not provide you with redundancy, but it will
work. Perhaps you might want to try something besides an "A" port out
the front, but without a concentrator to do the ring AB to M
combinations, you will not have a redundant ring.
But it will work, and the Alpha will be on the 100M ring. I have six
spare DECconcentrator 900MX 6-port modules (with ANSI-MIC, and UTP
ModPMDs) if you need a quick source of a Concentrator to make it really
work nicely. My cost center manager would be happy to sell them to
you !!
