2974.0. "Launch Probewatch data capture as result of "trap"" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Aaron Stout) Mon Nov 13 1995 23:26
Has anyone been able to launch a "data capture" to a packetprobe as the
result of a network "trap". I've been able to generate traps, and I can
manually launch data captures from PROBEwatch, but I can find no mechanism
in probewatch to make the "trap" trigger the data capture. The online intro
suggests this is doable, but I can't find any specifics for accomplishing this.
Specifically, I want to detect broadcast storms (got this working) and then
have that alarm trigger a data collection of broadcast packets during the
"storm". This seems like a commonly needed task. Running PROBEwatch version
3.3 with packetprobe firmware v 2.6.
