Why does HUBLoader require a Portswitch 900FP to loaded "direct" as opposed to "hub Managed", while DECrepeater 900TM and Portswitch 900TPs can be loaded via the "hub managed" method. This happened to a DECrepeater 900FP being upgraded from v1.1.0 to v1.2.0. -Charlie

2947.1 | You could DIRECT upgrade a DETMM ?? | MSDOA::REED | John Reed @CBO = Network Services | Thu Nov 02 1995 23:17 | 17 |
I am surprised that you got the DECrepeater 900TM to upgrade through the MAM. I just upgraded eight sites, from V4.0 DCF to the new v4.1.1, and HUBloader (that came with v4.1.1) would NOT allow me to Hub-Manage download upgrade any of the DECrepeater 900TM modules. This was in a Chlorine factory, so I had to climb into my saftey gear, and walk out to all of the sites with Repeaters, assign a temp IP address to the individual module, walk back to the HUBloader PC in the network administrators office, & perform a DIRECT upgrade. Then put my gas mask back on, and walk to the remote buildings to delete the modules' temporary IP address that I had assigned. I would like to know how to directly upgrade the 900TM repeaters, for future reference. JR | |||||
