| Jean-Yves, I don't understand what the problem is. Could you elaborate
please.
Let me guess - You start with a ring that looks like this:
Front Panel Ports
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ +-------------+
|DECcon 900 | |DECcon 900 |
+-+---------+-+ +-+---------+-+
| | | |
| +-------------+ |
| B A |
+---------------------------------+
A B
Backplane Ports
Then you insert a 900EF/MP (or /IP) into the ring having configured
it A out the front B out the back. This is a valid configuration and
this is how the hub will be connected:
Front Panel Ports A
|
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+ +-------------+ +-+-------+-+-+
|DECcon 900 1 | |DECcon 900 2 | |DECsw 900 EF/|
+-+---------+-+ +-+---------+-+ +-+---------+-+
| | | | |
| +-------------+ (n/c) |
| B A B |
| |
+---------------------------------------------------------+
A B
Backplane Ports
This is what we loosely call a "ring segment on the backplane". It is
really a wrapped ring; the ring wraps at the A port of concentrator
#2. This is not specific to the 900EF rtr, you can do this with any of
the 900 FDDI gear.
