2930.0. "90t fails 900TM works...why?" by PTOJJD::DANZAK (Pittsburgher ) Tue Oct 31 1995 07:35
Pittsburgh Supercomputer Center was installing some Macintosh systems
to 10-T DECrepeater 90T units. They did NOT work! The MACs got
excessive errors, etc., and barely were able to communicate.
I brought a new 90T repeater, power supply and used standard BN24G(?)
cables to no avail. Terminated the thinwire connection too and used it
as a stand-alone unit....no avail.
THEN I used a DECrepeater 900 stand alone and it worked like a champ.
WHAT is the difference between the 90T and 900TM that would cause this?
Any clue?
Totally baffled!

| This sounds a lot like note #2906... maybe the NICs are non-compliant.
