Hi, I would like some advise if the following config is valid. I wish to have a single stack domain managed by a 90TS, but comprising two segments. They are connected back to a DECswitch 900EF with two FO MAU on the AUI ports. Since only the DETML-UE has an AUI connection, I would have to put FO MAU on these rather than putting one on the 90TS. Question is, is it necessary for the managing agent to be physically at the "head of management chain", or can I simply wire them physically as shown and set the 90TS position to 15? I prefer to use the 90TS than the 90FS because it is much cheaper while giving 8 ports. Another matter that was bugging me: If I run the 10BaseFL to a DECrepeater 900T-16/DETAX's AUI port (via FO MAU) the Thinwire would still be active, and can be used to chain up other modules. I'm under the impression that the 90TS's AUI and Thinwire is mutually exclusive so I thought I should just ask. thanx,hw

Your impression about the 90TS's AUI and Thinwire ports being mutually exclusive is correct. One or the other can be active at any given time, but not both. The 90T-16/DETAX's AUI port is always available... even when the Thinwire is being used as well.
