2900.0. "MAM Yellow Temp Condition" by ALBANY::BARTLEY () Tue Oct 24 1995 13:13

     A customer's DEChub900 MAM display was stating that it had a
     yellow temp condition. It was warm in the closet. We went back to
    look at the hub w/HUBwatch and there was no indication of the yellow
    temp condition for the hub. We looked under the view-environmental
    summary window and fans for all other components (power supplies,
    modules) were green. No information in that window to indicate the
    status of the MAM.

    HUBwatch at X4.1.10 (Customer switching over to OpenVMS very soon.)
    DEChub 900 MAM at V4.1.0

    Is this something missing from HUBwatch or is the yellow condition
    info available in another window?

    Thanks,

    Dave

2900.1No temp sensing for hub itselfNETCAD::MILLBRANDTanswer mamTue Oct 24 1995 13:507
Hi -

What slot was the yellow temp pertaining to? What module was
in the slot? I don't recall any chassis ambient temp sensors,
just sensors within modules.

2900.2Warning, warning, dangerALBANY::BARTLEYTue Oct 24 1995 15:408
    It didn't mention any slot. It said MAM Yellow Temp Warning. But now
    that you mention it, slot 4 had a DECrepeater900TM that won't
    show up on HUBwatch. It showed up as an unkwown module in the hub.
    That's why we went to the closet to begin with. We reset the module
    (re-inserted) and it came back ok. The MAM warning continued.

.0 - we will look into this.
2900.5Why X4.1.10 ??NETCAD::FORINOWed Oct 25 1995 11:557
    Just to confirm on the HUBwatch side there is a temp sensor for the MAM
    itself in the Environment Summary View and no where else. My real
    question is why the customer is running version X4.1.10???? This is
    field test software are should not be used now that shipping V4.1
    kits are available.

    Re: .5

    We looked in the Environment Summary View (X4.1.10), there wasn't any
    temp sensor for the MAM. Let me know if this was added and is in the
    V4.1 kit.

    Still running X4.1.10 because of some backplane DS900EF/MP issues.
