Repeaters are for Ethernet.
Concentrators are for FDDI.

    Very clear, Thank!

2864.3"Concentrator" may = "hub"FOUNDR::OUIMETTEEyes of the WorldMon Oct 16 1995 16:5010
    	FWIW, many companies (Synoptics/Bay comes to mind) use the term
    "concentrator" to mean "hub", as in the Lattisnet 3000 concentrator.
    Even within DEC I've heard "hub" and "concentrator" used
    interchangeably (though not in this notes conference, heaven forbid! :^).

        To be safe, if I'm talking in a general networking context, I say
    "hub" for hub, and "FDDI Concentrator" for *FDDI* concentrator.... This
    keeps me interoperable in a multi-vendor environment... :^)
