My customer is trying to manage some DS900TMs with HUBwatch v3.1. When he sets the port speed with HUBwatch, the action never seems to take affect. He winds up having to use NCP connect to the server and use server commands to set port speeds. The terminal servers are running Network Access Server software version 1.4 (BL91-32 R0 V5.1-0 LAT). Is this supposed to work? Thanks, Richard

2862.1 | need to set "SNMP sets enabled" | JULIET::WENGER_GE | Sun Oct 15 1995 23:43 | 7
Richard, By default only SNMP gets are enabled on the terminal server. Your customer needs to set ther terminal server SNMP sets enabled. This should allow him or her to make the changes from hubwatch. Georgia

Also, whenever you do an SNMP SET to any of the DECservers, you are changing the "DEF" (non-volatile) characteristics, not the "SET" (current, volatile) characteristics. So, you need to do a RESET PORT, logout port, or reset server to make the things you change in HUBwatch appear on the server.
