2828.0. "can not start TFTP server" by SWETSC::ROSS () Wed Oct 04 1995 06:26

I have installed hubwatch v4.0.1 for a customer running on windows 95.

All has gone OK, except that I can not get the TFTP server to run.

The first set of error messages I got were the same as note 2404 i.e. Failed
File Read Timeout.

I then went into the TFTP server icon and started the server via the start
button. This resulted in the BOOTP requests starting but not TFTP. When we
tried to download the firmware again we got the same error as note 2571, i.e.
SNMP Get Request Timeout.

I am must be missing something obvious here. Do I have to configure a server
using Config, Servers in the TFTP server menu.

What I basically need to know is how do I get the TFTP server running.

Thanks,

Joe Ross

First off (since lawyers are on a lot of people's minds today except
for disheartened Red Sox fans) HUBwatch doesn't officially support
    Windows 95.

That said do you have the consolidated kit installed as well? If
so are all the environment variables described in the READ_ME_.TXT
set up properly. It may be that the TFTP Server is running fine
but the firmware files are not located where the variables say they
    are.

Also, the TFTP Server display shows block counts as a device is
being loaded. Check if the block count every increments.

Thanks for the reply.

I thought this might be the case with 95, so I installed it on 3.1 and got the
same results. I then got them to stop and restart the TFTP server and now all
is working OK.
