2823.0. "DECswitch900EF and STP?" by UTOPIE::BRAUN_R () Mon Oct 02 1995 15:57
Hi,
I'm new to HUBs, please excuse any inaccuracies.
My customer has a DEChub900 and 2 DECswitch900EFs, probably not with
the lastest SW-version.
These DECswitches should implement redundancy via STP, but on the
"standby"-module port 4 does not participate in STP, it is active
all the time, of course leading to a loop.
Port 3 of the "standby"-switch goes to the backplane and the problem
is with the "first" port after it. If we disable this port, port 5
becomes the "troublemaker" and so on...
With one of the latest switch-SW-versions it should be possible to
disable STP per port, but according to the customer this is not the
case.
What else can be checked, please be patient with me...
Thanks for any info,
Ralph
