2822.0. "Probewatch, outbound inbound meaning" by DRAC::DSMAIL () Mon Oct 02 1995 15:55
Hello,
I've captured several reports in a multisegment Ethernet
installation; now I'm in the process of analizing such reports
to give the customer some sort of recommendations.
I've got Segment Details and Segment Statistics that are self
explanatory when you read them.
The Conversational reports also I can understand that Host1 in
Segment1 can talk to Host2 in Segment2...easy.
But in the Host report it appear hosts that are physically connected
to other segments..., why?
What is the real meaning of outbound and inbound utilization when
they appear hosts from another segment that actually I'm analizing.
I figured out that outbound was all the traffic that any host
put on the wire and inbound all the traffic received by this hosts,
but reading the reports I've discovered outbound traffic coming out
from a host in another segment...
Can you clarify me this issue.
Thaks in advance
