| By "backplane management" you mean you Enabled the HUB Mastership
Mode under the Module Specific Options?

2790.3 | DEFMI at hw B01+ for mgmt | SNOFS1::KHOOJEANNIE | Humpty Dumpty was pushed | Thu Oct 05 1995 22:20 | 8 |
| The DECrepeater 90FS itself has to be at hardware revision B01 or higher to
manage other repeaters (this is in the release notes).
I tried this with a DEFMI at h/w rev A01, and whilst I could upgrade
firmware to v2, there weren't any module-specific options to configure
bus mastership.

2790.4 | FS manageable in slots 1-6? | SNOFS1::KHOOJEANNIE | Humpty Dumpty was pushed | Mon Oct 23 1995 23:05 | 9 |
| I have found that if you use a DECrepeater 90FS in a DEChub 90, but not
in slots 7 or 8, then you cannot manage it using SNMP, or ping it etc.
Why is this? I thought that everything should work except for the AUI
... Since you can manage the DECrepeater 90TS in any slot, why
isn't the 90FS SNMP management the same?
Any ideas?

2790.5 | Rev. F01 | NETRIX::"[email protected]" | Robert Schmoelzer | Tue Oct 31 1995 08:46 | 11 |
| Jeannie,
I have talked to the customer regarding the Hardware Rev. of the DEFMI.
The customer told me Rev. F01 which he read from the back of the module.
Now, IMHO F01 is higher than B01 but actually the management does not
seem to work.
Can you or anyone else verify this?
regards
robert
