2709.0. "DSAP Filtering" by CGOOA::DANYLUK () Tue Sep 05 1995 19:31
I have a customer with the following Network requirements, they have
to seperate networks, what he would like to do is to have the 900MX
not pass any Bridge PDU's so if the one network is going thru spanning
tree changes the other network will not be affected. It is my
understanding that Spanning tree cannot be turned off on the 900mx
bridge, is this true. The customer also tried to filter out 802.3 DSAP,
after setting up this filter the packets were still being passed
between the two networks. Can someone tell me how to segregate the two
networks so both networks can have seperate root bridges, Can I turn
off spanning tree, what filter do I need to set up to stop one networks
spanning tree changes from affecting the other network.

2709.1 | Wave 3 DECswitch image will allow per port STP disable... | NETCAD::BATTERSBY | | Wed Sep 06 1995 15:48 | 5 |
| If you have your customer upgrade their DECswitch90EF (DECbridge900MX)
with the latest image defba_152.bin, your customer will be able to
disable spanning tree on individual ports.
