Sounds like a modem eliminator is your solution (your description
implies that you have no clock). Not as nice as a simple null modem
cable or terminator, but better than a modem.

I have been trying out some of our networking applications under Windows 95 such
as Hubwatch and The Network Applicaiton interface.

Hubwatch runs quite well with the Microsoft IP stack using the in-band Ip
address on the HUB. We also had the option of using the out of band ip address
by connecting to the HUB's slip port with a null modem cable. Unfortunetly with
Win95's TAPI interface The Dial up connections insist on a modem. I have not
been able to find a work around to this. I know customers are going to try
this as I have talked to them in the past and they were doing this with Win31
and hubwatch. I doubt a Modem eliminator will work unless I can find one that
will respond to the modem commands from the TAPI interface.

I have looked over the Resource Guide and in all cases it assumes a modem. There
is a thread on the MSN from someone else persuing the same line with no answers.

Any body here got any ideas, on how to do SLip and or PPP over a null modem cable.

Win95 has the possibility to use NDIS2-real mode driver, the same
you can use in a LANManager DOS client.

In the case for Novell Netware, I think you can even use the Novell
NWClient, that is implemented completely as a set of real mode
    programs.

Take it as a very weird option, but i can't think in other posibility,
but what if you load the stack with the STRTSLIP.BAT?
