2610.0. "Fans indication ih HUBwatch" by LEMAN::PAIVA (Hawkeye - Network Support @GEO) Fri Aug 04 1995 04:57

    Hi!

      I have a problem with a DECconcentrator 900MX (f/w 3.0.1) sitting in
slot 8 of a 900MS (f/w 4.0.2) whose fans indication in the Environmental
status of HUBwatch (V4.0.1) are all three in yellow. The temperature of
the module is in green and the temperature of the module itself seems to
be OK (checked by putting my hand above and under the module itself).
So my questions are (after having the HUBwatch help regarding this
    matter):

      - The 900MX having three fans, would it show precisely which of the 3
fans is defective (I think that the answer is NO)?

      - How dangerous is this situation, since I don't know how many fans
        are defective?

      - What's the indication to be given to the PRC when the module will
        eventually be replaced?

      - The temperature of the module being OK, what's the exact meaning of
the yellow indication of the 3 fans, ONE OR MORE FANS DEFECTIVE?

      - Any additional explanation regarding this matter is more than
        welcome...

      Thanks

      Pedro
