2561.0. "2Qs on 900CP/TP mibs" by HGOVC::RICHARDLAM () Wed Jul 26 1995 07:04
A customer finds the following problems/inconsistencies in the 900CP, are
they 'fixed' ?
1. DECRepeater 900CP sometimes fail to partition open ports.
As indicated by LEDs on the module's front panel and HubWatch 4.01,
sometimes some open ports (not terminated by loads) are not
partitioned and show a state of "online". Since the repeater fails to
detect and partition these ports OCCASSIONALLY, the customer worries
that the repeater will fail to filter out garbage from bad ports.
2. Incorrect information reported from SNMP
HP OpenView MIB browser was used to browse the Repeater MIB of
DECRepeater 900CP and 900TP. What the customer wants to do is to
gather connected workstation's MAC addresses from the repeater MIB
objects. However, the object erptrAddrDBPortGroupIndex (id:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.36.2.18.11.5.1.1.2.3.1.1.2), which identifies the group
containing the port on which this entry's MAC address was seen, and
the object erptrAddrDBPortIndex (id:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.36.2.18.11.5.1.1.2.3.1.1.3), which identifies the port
within the group on which entry's MAC address was seen, report
incorrect values using the MIB browser.
Note: Customer is evaluating beta version of the firmware.
