2554.0. "Launching telnet icon fails..." by TOPTEN::LEONARD (Paid to play) Tue Jul 25 1995 09:10

I recently upgraded HUBwatch to V4.01 and am now able to manage my
DECserver 900GM's from HUBwatch - this is good! When I attempt to
launch the telnet icon from within the terminal server screen, I get the
following error:
	Run time error R6009
Telnet - not enough space for environment

I can telnet to the servers' console port from the DOS command line with
		sethost telnet: mxmts26

I am using the PW 5 IP stack that is provided with HUBwatch. The system
is a 486DX/33 AST with 16MB.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
/jane

How much conventional memory is FREE when running Windows??

Make sure that the DOS=HIGH,UMB statement in CONFIG.SYS preceeds
the DEVICE=EMM386.EXE... statement to take advantage of 640K TO
	1 Meg memory area.

	Oh, oh, oh,...
>>	Telnet - not enough space for environment

Increase the Environment parameter(E:) on the SHELL command in
	CONFIG.SYS:
	e.g. mine is...
	SHELL=C:\COMMAND.COM C:\ /P /E:1024

	Reboot.

I have tried both of the above recommendations and still I am receiving
the run time error... Any other ideas or things that I should look
    into?
    Thanks!
