Can anyone give me some pointers to future products in hub. ie the latest pid ? Some info on the ATM products, the number of 400Mb/s backplane segments ? Wether we are doing FDDI to ATM to Enet in the hub, and if we are what kind of connectivity will this be eg LAN emulation, bridged ? Regards John

John, This information is in the enVISN presentation. There seems to be 1 400Mbs cell switched connection between all the switches. This is within the hub only and links switch of all types together. It's not clear whether there will be multiple 400Mbs connections in the future. FDDI to ATM will be handled by a combination of the FDDI/ATM switches where the FDDI switch will slice the FDDI packets into Ethernet packets and hand the packets to ATM. In this way, the FDDI switch will look like and Ethernet switch and we'll get LAN emulation without too much hassle. | |||||

Thanks for the reply. The ENVisn presentation does show what you said. From what you say the presentation can be considered as technically accurate. Regards John |
