2533.0. "bootp request for a MAM ?" by CSC32::L_MORSE () Mon Jul 17 1995 19:46

    	A customer was upgrading the DECHUB 900MS fimrware from
    	3.1 to 4.0. Something went wrong when nvram was being
    	updated. The module continuously displayed a bootp request
    	on the LCD. Someone suggested that a firmware load could
    	return the Hub to a working state. Is this possible ?

    	They did not have an IP address on the unit but if they did
    	would a bootp/tftp load the MAM ?

    	They had F.S. the MAM replaced all is fine.

    Engineering says the following should work:

    When the MAM says "Sending BOOTP Request" that means that it is in
    its primitive load state. In addition to sending BOOTP requests, it
    is also waiting for a TFTP write request. At this point, the way
    to load it is to connect the OBM port to a terminal server running
    SLIP on that port. You don't need an IP address for the hub. You
    use the IP address of the port on the terminal server. Then from
    some host you do a TFTP put of the image to the IP address of the
    terminal server port.
