Hello, one of our customers is using DECHUB900 and DECrepeater900TM. He also has a DECPacketProbe90. This customer is wondering why he sees collosions on the various meters when looking at the Repeaters with HUBWATCH, while at the same time the Probe does show no collisions or much less then on the Repeaters. I explained to him that the Probe is only able to detect collisions when itself is involved. (He didn't like it) (Notes Entry 838) In the same Notes entry Jack Forrest stated that by summer we will have new asics that will be phased into the probe that will enable the probe to detect collisions. This customer wants to buy two probes more but would make sure that he get the newer hardware. So what can I tell him ?? Thanks OTTO

The ECO was put on hold until we get new firmware from Frontier that we feel can be released. We hope that we will get the final image next week. After the ECO has been processed, availability will depend on the ongoing order rate - i.e. how long until the older modules on the shelf get consumed. We cannot afford to scrap them. | |||||
