A customer called me and told he had reported a defect DEChub900 and got a new one sent back to him, but they were at different firmware revision levels. The original one were using V3.0 and the new one was using V3.1. Now he has a problem getting contact with the modules in the hub, and he asked me if the revision levels on the modules had to correspond to the DEChub900, i.e. V3.1? If that is the case, would he be able to upgrade to V4 on the DEChub first, and then the modules, or do the modules have to be upgraded to V3.1 first? Bjrn Olav Haugom Oslo, Norway

What steps are nescessary when a DECHub 900 is replaced by another to get the existing configuration to work again? I know the MAM has to be configured to tell which LAN goes where and which modules goes where, but what about the configuration of each single module? Is there any information kept in the modules that "knows" anything about the replaced backplane? BJrn Olav | |||||

The MAM stores the configuration, not the modules. -Mike |
