hello Giles.
Could check with printenv command if the following variables are correctly
set, with these it's works for me
HUBWATCH_LOAD=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware
HUBWATCH_HUBLOADER=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware
HUBWATCH_HUBLOAD=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware

| Jean-Yves,
Thanks for the info, I didn't have the last two set at all,
however I still get the warning message in HUBloader.
Heres my output from printenv
HOME=/
SHELL=/usr/bin/csh
TERM=vt300
USER=root
LOGNAME=root
PATH=/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/bin/X11
NSHOME=/usr/nshome/nshome
XUSERFILESEARCHPATH=/usr/nshome/nshome/X/%N
XLIBI18N_PATH=/usr/nshome/nshome/X
DISPLAY=quad::0.0
HUBWATCH_LIBRARY=/usr/kits/HUBwatch
HUBWATCH_LOAD=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware
HUBWATCH_HUBLOADER=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware
HUBWATCH_HUBLOAD=/usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware
Can I ignore the warning, I have tried shutting HUBwatch and HUBloader
down and restarting them, but I still get the error.
Giles.

| Hi,
Well all the files look ok and I installed HUBloader from ROOT just
the same as I had done with HUBwatch, Polycenter Netview and Probewatch
and they are ok. Any files I should specifically check for ?
Giles.

| John,
Yes I have installed the latest DCF kit and all the files are
present and correct in the directory /usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware.

Do you start hubloader from root too ?
|
2467.8 | Environment variables | NETCAD::FORINO | | Wed Jul 05 1995 14:33 | 17 |
| The HUBloader uses 3 environment variables:
HUBWATCH_LIBRARY - to access the HUBwatch agents file
HUBWATCH_LOAD - to access the Consolidated kit firmware and
dcffiles.dat. I don't remember if the Consolidated
kit gives you the flexibility to install the kit
wherever you want but this environment variable
must be set to the directory where these files reside.
For example, /usr/kits/HUBfirmware/firmware if you take
the Consolidated kit installation defaults.
HUBWATCH_HUBLOADER - this is where the HUBloader will create the status
message log file and the load from agents list
files. Therefore, you need write access to the
directory that you set for this environment
variable.

I'm a bit confused here. HUBloader on OSF cannot be installed
seperately from HUBwatch like on WINDOWS. HUBloader is part of the
HUBwatch installation.

| John,
Well, what I mean is that I fire up Hubwatch from root and then
invoke Hubloader from the pulldown menu, not separately.
Giles.

| John,
Somehow one of my notes is missing here, all is ok now, after I
rebooted the node and setup the variables in the /.login file.
Now where the hell did that note go I put in after .9.
Anyway, should there be a bit in the HUBloader Help for these
variables, appologies if there is but I couldn't find it. 8)
Giles.
