Hi,
I was wondering if the following was possible. Customer
has two hubs, one of the hubs has a pathworks/netware
server lan on it and the other has a NT lan and a Win for Workgroup
lan on it. They all talk IPX/SPX. I've been given the task of
setting up a MSmail pilot (I know why bother :-) for
there network. However at present Mr. Customer doesn't
want any communications (i.e user connections) between
the lans (security reasons) but we wants mail. To achieve
mail connectivity I need a pc which is running
external.exe (MSmail mta) to be able to connect to a
logical drive on each server.
Each hub has a DECswitch 900EF so my thoughts are to
filter everything out accept the pc MAC address and
Server SAPS. I've read the filtering comments in this
notes file (bit confusing on the source and destination
side of things even with note 1972.3) but I'm still
unsure wether what I'm doing is correct.
Anyone done this?
Thanks
Paul Therkelsen

It's a little unclear from this message how the PC will be used
for mail services, whether it is dual-homed, how the two hubs are
connected, and in general what the topology will look like. However
my guess is that you should be able to use the manual mode feature to
do what you want.
