2434.0. "Jabbers with invalid addresses" by GIDDAY::MORETTI (Networks Integration, Oz) Wed Jun 28 1995 04:44

Has anybody seen jabber packets on a network which cannot be allocated
    to an ethernet address.

I took a datacapture of these jabbers using ProbeWatch but the source
    address was either :

    		6a0000xxxxxx or 1a0000xxxxxx

These addresses are not present in the LAN registry so I am assuming
    they don't exist.

I am getting over 300 jabbers per minute when we load the network down
    with large, multiple copies.

I posted the config in 2418 but got no reply and I have tried changing
all the hardware (except the PC NIC cards) including the DE435 card for
the file server but am still getting jabbers.

    Thanks

I posted the problem fix in note 2418.1 but forgot to say that if the
file server and PCs were on the same 90T+ there were no errors of any
    kind.

It seems one of the differences of the 90T+ and 90T repeaters is the
jam collision bits which might explain the strange addresses.
