2412.0. "Probewatch & Win 95" by WOTVAX::pc0898.olo.dec.com::Hunt_JS (Relax ! Fly an Alpha?) Thu Jun 22 1995 06:58

Hi,

	I know there has been a previous note about HubWatch on Windows 95 and
NT, but I haven't seen anyone ask about Probewatch and Win95.

	Has anyone any experience with this combination (WIN95, Probewatch
3.1) and could offer advice?

The problem I have is that Probewatch appears to have installed OK into
Win95, but when I run it the 1st screen comes up for a few seconds, or less,
and then disappears.

	I know this combination is probably not yet supported, but if any one
has any ideas I would be grateful.

	My PC is a DECpc 325SL with a XIRCOM Credit Card Adpater (Corporate
Series).

Cheers, Jim

	Make sure that the NSHOME environment variable is set to the
	PROBEWATCH installation directory.

2412.2NSHOME set and WIN95 upgraded - still no luck!WOTVAX::pc0898.olo.dec.com::Hunt_JSRelax ! Fly an Alpha?Fri Jun 30 1995 04:3023
Hi Barb,

	Thanks for the tip, but unfortunately that's not it as you can see
below.

Autoexec.bat
============
Rem    Required for Teamlinks
path = C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;t:\tl

Rem     Required for Probewatch
set NSHOME = C:\PROBEW
mode con codepage prepare=((850) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi)
mode con codepage select=850
keyb uk,,C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\keyboard.sys

	When I entered the note I was on WIN95 build 347 which I thought might
have a problem. I have now upgraded to WIN95 build 490, but it is still the
same - the Probewatch screen flashes on the screen then exits.

	Any more ideas anyone?

Thanks, Jim
