I am looking for some information on the throughput of the DECswitch 900 (EE and EF) when routing software is added. Wellfleet and Cisco have these numbers for their routers and I've been asked twice by customers about this. I can't seem to find anything on it although it seems like a perfectly legitimate question. The answer I'm looking for is "______"/pps. Thanks

The throughput is so much a function of the software release that it may be premature to quote the numbers right now. However I believe that it is expected to be in the range of 15,000 to 18,000 pps for the most popular protocols. Anil

The next release, late in CY 95 should bring that up into the 40-45K range and also include Ethernet in the backplane capability. dave
