    1) With DCF V4.0, if we want to convert A-port of DECswitch900EF (firmware
    version V1.5) to M and B-port to S at front-panel, do we have to use
    HUBwatch V4.0 or the DECswitch900EF can 'auto-detect' such connections?
    
    
    2) What about for DC900MX (V3.0.0), do we have to convert A-port to M
    and B-port to S with HUBwatch V4.0 or will it 'auto-detect' (I meant
    the front-panel connections)?

    If its in a hub you need to use hubwatch 
    
    If its in a DECHUB One you can access a menu via the setup port 
    that will allow you to change the port's type.
