    I need to configure DECswitch 900 EF with the new RouteAbout-software
    
    If I use IP-routing in DECswitch 900EF, can I configure IP-routing
    on the ports of DECswitch on a per port basis,
    bridge IP on some ports and route IP on other ports of same DECswitch

    Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, we're in the final
    stages of development for the DECswitch900EF Router.  
    
    Unfortunately, the answer is no.  Once you route a protocol, the
    protocol must be routed on all ports.  
    
    This capability, which requires changes to the code base, is in our
    plans.  This summer we will be culling down our list of features
    for the next release, so please let us know your wish/complaint list
    with priorities.

	- ip (or other protocol) routing is enabled globally for the box
	  on a per protocol basis

	- packets are routed if the packet's protocol has been enabled
	  for routing

	- packets are filtered at the MAC layer if you configure specific
	  bridging filters

	- packets that are not routed or filtered are candidates for
	  bridging, depending on the destination MAC address

    Can you say set up IP to be routed and then subsequently setup MAC
    level filters on the ports ?

    There is a new conference now, specific to RouteAbout and DECswitch 900
    Routing. It is at  Z28::COMMON_BROUTERS or CAMERO::COMMON_BROUTERS.
