Probewatch for windows V1.0 The discovery tool creates a file xxxxxxxx.IP where xxxxxxxx is the subnet address in hex. A customer want to know the fiel structure and record format of the file so that he can write an application to access information from it. Is this information available ? or is it company confidential ? regards, andrew

I don't have the file format, and I don't know if it is Frontier confidential. However, since Frontier took the discovery feature out of V3.x, I would hate to see the customer invest time and effort on something that is a dead end. V3.x lets you install domains in Net or Sub-Net mode, providing the probe supports it. We are getting DECpacketprobe firmware near the end of June that will support these modes. So the data is kept on the probe now. If your customer still wants to do this, then have them call Frontier at 508-244-4000. |
