2323.0. "Roamabout Qns" by STROP::LAYLAND (Iligitami nil Carborundum) Tue May 30 1995 13:49
The following questions have been posed. Are there any simple answers ?
In question 1, I believe that they are trying to connect two lan's together.
Is this allowed ? Qns 2,3 & 4 seem to be concerned with FCC compliance.
1. What is required to provid a point to point wirless connection, they wish to
connect to buildings together. Can we use two of the hub's to do this the
presentation we had in France showed two pc's connected together not two hub's.
2. Is there any case histories for Health Care environments, they are extremely
worried that the wirless connection could cause problems with patient equipment
both life support and monitoring.
3. The proposes pilot site is very close to an Airport is there any likly
interference problems.
4. What levels of security are avalible this link may transmitt patient data
they are conserned with others being able to listen in and possible corruption
form outside sources.
What I require is a pointer to a detailed spec, or detailed installation notes.
Regards John
