Is there such a thing as 10BaseFB, and if so are compliant to this
standard. The question comes from a vendor who needs this
compatability.
While we're at it, are there any other standards besides 10BaseFL &
FOIRL, that are current ?

10baseFB is a synchronous transmission protocol, mainly used by
CHIPCOM Corp. Our products use 10baseFL and/or FOIRL protocols, which
are NOT compliant with 10baseFB.
If you have a 10baseFB based network you need at least a CHIPCOM
transceiver, which will convert the 10baseFB to a regular AUI
connection, from where you then can extend the fiber link, using an
AUI-to-10baseFL repeater, such as the DEFAR.
