2235.0. "HUBwatch integration means what???" by DPDMAI::DAVIES (Mark, SCA Area Network Consultant) Fri Apr 28 1995 17:15

I am responding to a bid which is due next Tuesday for ~$500K in hubs.

They have a questions that goes like this:

"Detail how your MIBs or management software can be integrated into
other management packages (for instance: SunNet Manager, HP OpenView,
    NetView, etc."

I have never used HUBwatch except on a Digital platform, and never
integrated with PNV or any other SNMP manager, so I need some help
    here.

We support HUBwatch today on VMS, Digital UNIX and Windows. Also with
integration in PNV and Windows/OpenView (right?).

Is it safe to assume that integrated means that the DEChub will show up
on the network map and if you double-click on it, it will cause
HUBwatch to run and give you a GUI interface?

    A little lost in Dallas,

2235.1That is the level of integration you get.SLINK::HOODApril showers bring vacation daysFri Apr 28 1995 19:0010
There are various levels of "integration" with any net management platform.
But, what you get with HUBwatch is launching. Double-click on the little
hub icon in your DECmcc, NetView or OpenView map and up we come.

The various HUBwatch installation procedures do what is necessary to do the
integration with the platform.

A little lost in Littleton,

Tom
