Is it possible (or planned) to manage non DIGITAL equipment using HUBwatch? If planned: Which vendor equipment will be integrated? If not planned can an integrator include such extensions given that the equipment to manage is SNMP compliant? The question is coming from a customer implementing multivendor equipment for a big project. Thanks for help. Regards. Soumetty.

It is not possible nor planned for customers to be able to add their own external device management to HUBwatch. HUBwatch is not a general-purpose SNMP management tool (a la Netview or Openview). It is software specifically designed to manage DEChubs, DEChub modules, and the GIGAswitches. Code can be written to manage other devices, but that code does not exist, and HUBwatch is not set up to allow other people to just attach modules to it. In situations like you are describing, my suggestion would be to manage the entire customer network with netview or openview or manageworks, and have the device management (like HUBwatch) be launchable on a device-by- device basis. And the usual rule applies: If you think that HUBwatch needs to manage something beyond DEChubs, DEChub modules, or GIGAswitches, contact the product manager, Jack NAC::Forrest.
