I am looking for some sort of documentation on Probewatch v3.1 and I am
getting rather confused (or I am not reading/thinking straight).
In the README.TXT for for PROBEWATCH v3.1 there is the following
statement:
"KNOWN BUGS: There is no Online Help in this version. A User Manual for
V3.1 will not be created as a hardcopy document, however all of the
information will be placed in Online Help."
This seems to be contradictory to me.
I am looking for some Release Notes or other information for v3.1.
Can somebody point me in the right direction or tell me where/how I am
being silly please?

Your being silly! There is no manual and there is no on-line help.
You'll have to learn it on your own like everyone else. That way you can
eliminate what ever spare time you have remaining trying to figure out
how trivial things like reports work.
One alternative is to wait for the next release and hope that
someone may bless the ignorant users with some documentation.
Otherwise go buy something else, Netscout comes to mind.

p.s. I like the look of the ft V3.2.2 on Digital Unix, and the new
segement screen graph, but I wonder what the other buttons do?

PROBEwatch for Windows V3.2 has Online Help - well actually it's
Frontier's NETscout manual converted to Online Help. We figured that
rather than put in a NETscout manual and document all the differences
with respect to our product, it wouldn't be much more work to edit
their manual into Help format. But we couldn't get approval to pay a
writer to do both Help and a User Manual.
The Frontier differences are more terminology related than functional.
We hope this will be the SSB kit, with a little more testing, and maybe
we can get somebody to do Release Notes. The kit can be copied from
NAC::NIPG::[MANAGE.RMON.WINDOWS.DISK*]
Our intentions are to take the Windows Help and convert it to
Bookreader format, and call that the PROBEwatch for Digital Unix Help.
We're waiting for a writer to free up to get started.
