2153.0. "Strange multicast format over DEChub ?" by YUPPY::DUNOYER () Wed Mar 29 1995 11:46
Hi
A customer currently has a Thickwire Ethernet, over which he runs
TCP/IP, standard Ethernet, and his own Ethernet type.
His multicast address method has all bits of the Most Significant Byte
(MSB) set to 1, whereas he says standard Ethernet has only the least
significant bit of the MSB set to 1.
Does this matter if we were to replace his Thickwire with a DEChub
configuration ? Would it cause any problems, or is this level of detail
transparent ?
Please advise.
Thanks
Una
